The Process

Within hours of harvesting the olives are crushed and processed. Bottling of the oil takes place some weeks later. The oil is packaged in 250mL or 500mL dark bottles to help preserve oil quality & natural fresh flavours.

Cooking

Bohena Olive Oils are ideal for grilling, frying or drizzling on foods.

Toss hot or cold vegetables with Olive Oil. Also ideal for salad dressings and marinades.

Why not try these delicious suggestions ....

  • Drizzle olive oil on pocket bread, spread with tomato paste or olive pate. Top with slices of fresh tomato & thinly sliced onion. Add sliced olives. Sprinkle with fresh mixed herbs, a little fresh parsley and grill for 6-8 mins: a quick & easy snack!
  • Drizzle oil over and during cooking of the Christmas Turkey for a delicious flavour.
  • Add avocado & olives to your favourite Tossed Salad. Toss lightly prior to serving with a mix of 1/3 cup olive oil, 1 tablespoon of lemon juice, 3/4 teaspoon Italian mixed herbs or a mix of Thyme, Rosemary and Marjoram. .... mmmm!

Evidence shows that amongst Mediterranean people who consume the most olives and olive oil, there is a decrease in heart related diseases. The olive is nature's storehouse for Vitamin E, A & K, as well as antioxidants. Mono-saturated fats in olives and olive oil have been proven to reduce levels of cholesterol.
